Ahwatukee Little League All-Stars

What is a Little League "All-Star"?

In Little League, All-Stars are the top players selected to represent their local league in postseason tournament play. These teams compete in District, Sectional, and Regional tournaments, with the opportunity to advance to the Little League® World Series.

All-Stars represent the highest level of competitive baseball within Little League. Players are selected based on performance, sportsmanship, attitude, and commitment to the team.


Key Features of Little League All-Stars Teams

District Competition
Teams begin in District tournament play. Winners advance to the next level.

Age-Specific Teams
Separate divisions include 8U–12U and Juniors/Seniors (13–16U).

Structured Selection Process
Players apply and are placed on ballots. Managers and players vote according to league guidelines. Final rosters include top vote-getters plus manager selections.

Path to Williamsport
Regional champions advance to the Little League® World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.


Eligibility & Selection

Must meet minimum regular season participation requirements.

Must satisfy Little League residency or school attendance requirements.

Evaluated on skill, teamwork, attitude, sportsmanship, and commitment.

Full tournament availability is expected if selected.


Tournament Structure

District Tournament
Local leagues compete. District winners advance.

Sectional Tournament
District champions face neighboring districts.

Regional Tournament
Sectional winners compete for a World Series berth.

Little League® World Series
International championship event held each August in Williamsport, PA.

How many players are on a roster?
Typically 12–13 players, depending on the division.

Can a player decline after being selected?
Yes. Families must notify the league immediately so an alternate may be selected.

What is the time commitment?
Practices begin in early summer. Tournament play runs through July, and potentially August for teams that advance.
